The city of Ushuaia is located in the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctic and Southern Atlantic Islands, in the southernmost end of our country.
This province is made up by The Great Island of Tierra del Fuego, which limits with the Magellan Strait to the north, meridian 68 º 36’ to the west, the Argentinean Sea to the west, and an imaginary line approximately equidistant from both coasts of the Beagle Channel to the south, and which includes the Archipelago of Isla de los Estados. It has a surface of 21,571 km2.
Farther south, the Argentinean sector of Antarctica, which includes The Southern Shetlands and Orcadas, and which is part of our province, is demarcated by meridian 25 º to the East and 74 º to the West with parallel 60 º to the North into the South Pole in the strict sense. It encompasses an area of 965,597 km2.
According to the limits set by Law 23,775 (Provincialization of the Last National Territory), passed in the year 1990, the Province ot Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands encompasses: the eastern part of the Great Island of Tierra del Fuego to the border of the Republic of Chile; the Isla de los Estados, the Año Nuevo islands, the Malvinas Islands, the Beauchene, the Cormorán and Negra rocks, the islands Georgias del Sur, Sandwich del Sur, other islands, islets and rocks situated in inland waters and in the territorial sea, determined by the aforementioned Law 23,968.
Ushuaia it is the capital of the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands.
Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world. Other urban centres are Río Grande and Tolhuin, where the landscape is markedly distinct.
The city of Ushuaia is the capital of the province and lies on the north coast of the Beagle Channel and at the foot of the Martial , in the Andes chain. Its relief is irregular: glacial valleys, millennial peat bogs, hills and gullies.
It was founded on October 12th 1884 by Augusto Lasserre. It is not only the administrative and tourist centre of the province, but also an industrial park . In addition, it is inserted solidly in the national port scenery.

You can visit Ushuaia the whole year round. There are two well-marked seasons: spring/ summer, and autumn/winter.
You can visit the winter resorts to enjoy travelling by dog team, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
In summer you can see the color change over the mountain range, the flora of the Tierra del Fuego National Park or the city. You can also take walks to the lagoons, mountains and valleys of the area.
You can visit the museums or visit the area of Escondido and Fagnano lakes, navigate the magnificent Beagle Channel throughout the year, among other activities that can be done at the end of the world, beginning of everything.
